1. Information We Collect

Account Information: If you create an account or sign up for alerts, we collect your email address and alert preferences (facilities, parameters, or counties you choose to monitor).

Payment Information:If you subscribe to Pro, payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. through its hosted checkout. Stripe collects your name, email, billing address, and payment card details directly; Permit Minder does not receive or store full card numbers. We retain a Stripe customer ID, subscription status, and the last four digits and brand of your card for billing administration. See Section 7 and Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To deliver email alerts based on your monitoring preferences
  • To provide access to the platform and its features
  • To respond to your inquiries or data correction requests
  • To improve the platform

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We do share limited information with the service providers listed in Section 7 solely to operate the platform.

3. Data Retention

We retain your email address and alert preferences for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with alerts. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting hello@permitminder.org.

4. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with the Pennsylvania Breach of Personal Information Notification Act (73 P.S. § 2301 et seq.) and any other applicable laws.

6. Your Rights

You may at any time:

  • Unsubscribe from email alerts using the link in any alert email
  • Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Contact us with questions about your data

7. Third-Party Service Providers

We use the following third-party service providers (sub-processors) to operate Permit Minder. These providers process limited personal data on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect it:

  • Stripe, Inc. — payment processing for Pro subscriptions. Stripe receives your name, email, billing address, and payment card details directly through its hosted checkout; Permit Minder does not receive or store full card numbers. See stripe.com/privacy.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery for alert notifications and account emails. Resend receives your email address and the content of messages we send you. See resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.
  • Supabase, Inc. — database and authentication infrastructure (US region). Stores account email addresses, alert preferences, and watchlist data.
  • Render — application hosting. Processes standard server request metadata.

We will update this list when we add or change material sub-processors.

8. Cookies, Analytics, and Error Monitoring

Permit Minder does not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising services.

Your recent search history is stored locally in your browser for convenience and is not transmitted to our servers. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser data.

Standard server logs may record IP addresses and request metadata for security and operational purposes; these logs are not shared with third parties and are retained for no longer than 90 days.

9. California and International Users

If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to request its deletion. If you are located in the European Economic Area, you may have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. 10. Children's Privacy

Permit Minder is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email.
